Tangent: One of my favorite flying experiences was with Air France. They liked to board all 500 passengers on to a 747 by announcing "we are now boarding" (you can imagine the chaos that ensues). I am not kidding. Every time I flew them that was how they boarded the plane (in Paris -- in NY we boarded by rows)! Someday I will tell you about flying from Cairo to Tel Aviv on EgyptAir....
Anyway, according to the information in my in-box this morning: "By combining Northwest and Delta, we are building a stronger, more resilient airline that will be a leader in providing customer service and value."
I got the same email three times. I feel more confident already.
Does this mean my frequent flier miles, which I FINALLY have enough of to get a ticket, are no good???
ReplyDeleteWhere are the pictures of Ella?
No, your FF miles are still good.
ReplyDeleteI know, I know. I can't figure out how to upload pics on to this laptop. I really dislike Vista. It won't let me choose to just up load a few pics -- it always wants to upload all 277 I have on the camera.
I was going to ask the same thing. We have about 300K combined (thank you, business trips) but we can NEVER use them. They say they open the seats 362 days before the flight. We have tried calling that day and there is nothing. However, when we went to Florida last month, I was able to use them on a flight just 4 days away. Go figure... I know you are a huge fan of Southwest. Their frequent flier program is the only thing I actually like about them.
ReplyDeleteReally? We LOVE Southwest! The snacks are still free, the service is great, prices are decent.
ReplyDeleteWe got tired of delays about 2 years ago (Sarah and Jen arrived 5 hours late the night Ella was born) and decided not to use them anymore. They sent us a $300 voucher apologizing for the delay on that flight. We never complained, never contacted them -- just got it in the mail. Now, that is customer service!
I LOVE Northwest and have been banking my miles by flying (infrequently) and doing it otherways - diner miles, e-miles, online purchases, etc. I pray they don't take that away.
ReplyDeletePS, I'd be glad to use your miles Steph!
I have tons of Northwest Miles. And almost every flight to the US from Regina goes through their hub in Minneapolis.
ReplyDeleteYour miles will be fine...
ReplyDeleteI love Northwest...after working for the company the past 10 years...I'll be sad to see the red tail go...
Hey Nat! Will you work for Delta, then?
