Our 1st Gingerbread House

We were way, way too productive on Thanksgiving! Up early, all of us were showered and dressed before 8 AM. Amazing. So for something to do in the morning, we put together our Gingerbread House.



I constructed the house and Sarah and Daddy decorated. Ella threw fits when we wouldn't let her eat the candy.

The final product is gorgeous! Not bad for our first try!

O Christmas Tree....

The Christmas tree is officially up and running in the Gabel household -- thanks to two very helpful elves!

More Birthday Fun...

And the party keeps going! Today the mailman delivered TWO more birthday packages for Sarah. The first one was from Aunt Karin and Uncle Matt -- a fan and a Magic Tree House Journal.


The second pacakge was from Bubbe and Zeyda in Florida. This package was chock full of stuff including TWO Barbies; candy; hair bling; and a gorgeous winter jacket! Sarah was absolutely delighted with it all!

A Night at the Drive In

Last night Mitch, Sarah, and I went to our very first drive in movie. It was a blast! We got to sit in our comfy cozy van, eat popcorn and Raisinettes, talk whenever we wanted...and all for a grand total of $20 (including popcorn and sodas). We saw "Mr. Magorium's Magic Emporium" and all three of us LOVED it! We highly recommend this fun film.

Babcia Turns 60!

My parents are out for the week in honor of my mother's 60th birthday. So on Monday evening we had a little party for her at home. We got her a tote bag with a family snapshot from this summer. And, of course, we had a DQ ice cream cake!

Santa!

We went to see Santa on Tuesday. Ella wasn't too sure about him at first so she had to sit on Sarah's lap (unfortunately you can't see their matching "Merry Christmas" Veggie Tales t-shirts). But after a few minutes of crying, she calmed down. And when Mommy went to get her she waved "bye bye" to the jolly old elf and then kept telling him "hi" over and over. So they are now good friends. So good that when we saw a Santa looking gentlemen out at dinner, Ella spent a good 10 minutes talking to him.
