Ella had her very first trumpet lesson last night. Mitch is a professional trumpet player, but since he has been teaching, the trumpets have been at school so Ella has never really been exposed to them. She buzzes her lips really well, but didn't exactly get that she needed to buzz on the mouthpiece. Felix, our cat, tried to climb up on the trumpet case and Ella kept telling him "NO!" -- without either one of us shooing him off first. Apparently, she's very protective of the trumpets!

Yes, well, putting a ponytail in a toddler's hair is not always an easy task. Sometimes she wants "pitty" (pretty) and other days... not so much. That was a hit and run ponytail day.
